Band Bio

Alex Zarvis - Guitar, Vocals

Alex began his musical life at the age of 13. Throughout middle- and high school, he experimented with many different instruments. He cut his teeth as a percussionist in his high school’s marching band, and played bass guitar in the school’s jazz band. However, beginning with the purchase of his first guitar from a music teacher’s assistant, Alex was hooked for life.  Soon after, his father bought him an acoustic guitar, which he happily played while saving money for nicer electric guitars. 

Alex played in many local bands throughout the Berkshires in the 1990’s, all the while writing music in his home studio, and giving guitar lessons to local aspiring rockers. During this time, Alex drew upon his natural ability with computers and electronics, allowing him to implement cutting edge technology, and imagination, into his guitar style. In 2001, Alex met Jim Boulais (Lick’s bassist). Together they became the areas “most ready to rock duo”. Learning hundreds of songs in marathon sessions, while searching for a drummer to round out the package. In late 2004 they met Joe Ciliberti, and the rest is history.

With a style born of Clapton, Hendrix, Gibbons, DiMartini, Satriani, and Becker, it’s no surprise Alex gets most of the lead guitar duties in Lick Morgan. Alex is that rare breed of guitarist that believes the lead guitar player can change the world, make fusion power a reality, cure hunger, and make people feel generally happy all over.

Alex plays any brand of instrument or equipment he can get his hands on, exclusively!
